Wake up and register to win in the iTrade with a Million Challenge!

D Day is fast approaching if you want to take an early lead in the iTrade with a Million Challenge!

In this virtual share-trading competition every competitor pockets a fictional R1million with which to trade shares on the JSE’s top 40 index and the Dow Jones 30 index.

The competition officially kicks off on 3 September but registrations are open and competitors have a chance to practice on the platform prior to the virtual whistle blowing on midnight of 2 September. At the start of the competition, each competitor’s virtual wallet will be automatically reset to R1million.

The competition will last three months (until 30 November) and registrations remain open until 25 November but the early bird might just catch the worm.

Sanlam iTrade and Netwerk24 are running the competition. Prize money of R25 000 and a year’s subscription to the iTradePro package with unlimited live prices, comprehensive share data and research, are amongst the prizes.

The challenge is open to anyone who is 18 years old and who is not a professional trader or asset manager. You have to provide a valid email address and ID number.

Articles with information about the competition in Afrikaans will be free to read on Netwerk24 and iTrade has many educational articles about trading. Some content with tips and advice will be behind Netwerk24’s subscription paywall.

We will share the leaderboard regularly.

The challenge allows you to trade a selected list of share outright or to enter into contracts for difference (CFDs). CFDs enable you to leverage either the upswing or the downswing of a share price without having to own it. Yes, you can become a short seller!

To participate, click on sanlamitrade.co.za/w/MillionaireRegistration.aspx and register or visit www.netwerk24.com/sake/miljoen.

Please read all the rules, as well as the list of shares you can trade in.

Above all, let’s have fun with share trading!
